"I believe in the magic of books. I believe that during certain periods in our lives we are drawn to particular books whether it's strolling down the aisles of a bookshop with no idea whatsoever of what it is that we want to read and suddenly finding the most perfect, most wonderfully suitable book staring us right in the face. Unblinking. Or a chance meeting a stranger or a friend who recommends a book we would never ordinarily reach for. Books have the ability to find their own way into our lives."
Cecelia Ahern never disappoints me. What she writes can not be easily categorized into any existing genre. She writes fairy-tale romance, so different from the mainline books. She thinks out of the box and comes up with one winner after the other.
And while PS, I Love You may not have the polished and smooth style of her later If You Could See Me Now, it does strike a chord with a lot of readers.
For me the book is all about having to deal with the beauty of sharing your emotions with people who care about you, the unhindered and invincible power of friendship and the determination to live life as it comes.
Holly has lost her husband and she's been having a hard time getting out of her grieving stage and back on her feet. Her husband Gerry, left her a list of things to do after he died, and I believe it was such a great way of closure for Holly.
Holly tried to live on and with Gerry's help through little notes, each signed PS, I love you... She made it through all those months in the end and she finally had to struggle on by herself.

I critically love the ending. Unpredictable, more thoughtful and absolutely individualistic. The characters exhibit a dauntless spirit and the value their own life more than people around had wanted them to.
I have to say, I thought the description was incredible! Cecelia Ahern has really made a great effort in writing this book and her writing style is equally as impressive.
