What is Ramadan?
This post is for everyone that has no idea what Ramadan is. Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar. Every day during this month, Muslims around the world spend the daylight hours in a complete fast. Muslims are called upon to use this month to re-evaluate their lives in light of Islamic guidance. We are to make peace with those who have wronged us, strengthen ties with family and friends, do away with bad habits – essentially to clean up our lives, our thoughts, and our feelings.
A reminder:
"Here’s your yearly reminder that we are all ~Ramadan Muslims~
Before you start judging someone for suddenly becoming “more religious” this Ramadan, ask yourself when the last time you went to the mosque to pray for a couple hours right after you ate a giant dinner. Or when the last time it was that you avidly read your Qur’an. Or the last time you made so much dua. Or sacrificed sleep to pray more."
The point of Ramadan is to recharge your spiritual self. To prepare your soul for the rest of the year. To use the 30 days to create some good habits. It’s not a piety competition.
“Don’t mock those who start practising in Ramadan, this might be their turning point just like you had yours one day.”
We are days away from the month of Ramaḍān, the month in which the Qurʾān was sent down from above. May allah make it a turning point in our long miserable suffering ummah. Ramadan Mubarak everyone!
P.S: I recommend to everyone an app called Ramadan Legacy to help you make the most out of your Ramdan insha'Allah!
This app is available to download on Google play store and Apple App store.
- Set Ramadan goals.
- Track progress (of Salah,Fast,Qur'an,Taraweeh..etc).

- Qur'an verse a day.
- Dua a day.
