Ramadan is Finally Here!

Assalamou alaykoum,

Finally!! Ramadan is just a day away here in Morocco but it has already started today in many other countries.

I'm so excited for Ramadan this year and I'm so thankful for making it through a full year in time for the next Ramadan. Al Hamdoulillah!

Ramadan is not only about starving ourselves for the respect of the poor, but also about teaching us the right, and preventing us from committing any sins. It teaches us to stay loyal and humble as well as staying positive. And most importantly it gives us a chance to get closer to Our Lord, to remember Him, to follow the right path and to leave behind the bad habits we are all used to do. Here's to a new start! Let’s make this Ramadan the one that helps us become better Muslims for the future.

Here are some tips/ things to do in this holy month:

*Make sure you guys stay hydrated. It is going to be a really hot Ramadan for most of us so drink lots of water when you break the fast on to suhoor .

*Wake up for suhoor/Fajr, trust me, you’ll regret it if you don’t.

*Help out the less fortunate, Ramadan is a lot harder to take part in when you don’t have a proper meal to break your fast with.

*Try to go to the nearest mosque and donate even a little, I don’t have much but I’ll put in as much as I can. Thus, please try to donate so our brothers and sisters can have a safe Ramadan too.

*Help out in the kitchen. If you don’t want to make the food, then you should offer to wash the dishes. Ignorance is on an all time high during Ramadan.

*If people at work/University/school question you during lunch time, educate them on the purpose of Ramadan and it’s message. Don’t let them mock you. Ramadan is not exclusive. If someone wants to take part in it, don’t exclude them. Let them try it. The whole point of Ramadan is to teach you endurance, patience and appreciation for what you have, so please don’t mock or attack any non-Muslim trying to participate.

*Make plenty of dua for our Brothers and Sisters around the world and ask Allah to remove their oppression.

*Be mindful of your character. Any moment at all that you feel anger, resentment or envy remember that Shaitan is no longer here to entice you. Remember that these are your own weaknesses and that Allah (s.w.t.) has allowed you to realize them whilst in the month of Ramadan so that you may repent and improve. It is a mercy from Allah to have our flaws being shown to us and it is the humility in us that accepts these flaws and wishes for them to disappear.

*Last but not least, make dua. Make dua. Make dua. ♡ It only gets easier from here on out. :)
If ever I have said or posted anything that has offended you, please forgive me. And I will starve myself, in hopes that this empty stomach will fill my empty heart. For if I can go without the food that I need, I can go without desires so dark. May we all use this month to our advantages!

Doodling/ Zentangle/ Madala Arts Q&A

According to Wikipedia, a   doodle  is a  drawing  made while a person's attention is otherwise occupied. Doodles are simple drawings that can have concrete representational meaning or may just be  abstract  shapes. ( This is an example of one of my doodles. March 2015) Q&A: X : Where do you get your inspiration to draw? You're incredible! What I mean by inspiration, I suppose, is how do you come up with the designs for these? Is there some creative process that you go through? I don’t really know! I always start off the basic shape in my head and work from there really but I usually make it up as I go along. Usually if I’m unsure if it’s going to look okay I just do it! Y : How do you draw your Mandalas? You're just perfect! Thank you! To grid your mandalas up before drawing,  I draw all the different circles using a compass in pencil then split it up into sections using a protractor and go ove...

My Hijab Story

Hello blog friends!    I just love it when people tell me that I was forced to wear Hijab. Thank you for telling me that. Oh!wait… I wasn’t forced, I chose.    People often think that Hijab is hiding a girl’s true beauty, and her most beautiful form is a secret treasure only to be witnessed by those privileged enough to see her in that state. It’s actually the opposite– you’re already seeing the polished diamond. As she ventures into the world, wearing her Hijab, she is a reflection of the strength and beauty of God. She is not hidden, but a manifest sign of His splendor for the whole world to see. And what can be more beautiful than His signs?    Both my parents come from very conservative families because their lineage belongs to the lineage of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his grandsons Hasan and Husain. Which literally makes my family a conservative and a religious one as well.     My eldest sister and I used to...

Ramadan has Come to a Close وداعا رمضان

Ramadan has come to a close and Eid-ul Fitr is just around the corner. I still can't believe how this Ramadan has went by so fast; its crazy.I hope that this holy month wasn’t too hard for any of you and that it was full of blessings. Besides, I know that it's really easy to feel spiritual and connected in this holy month, as it is not just a temporary increase of religious practice, but also it is a glimpse of what you are capable of doing everyday during Ramadan. That doesn’t mean after Ramadan your prayers stop. That doesn’t mean reciting and reading of the Quran stops. That doesn’t mean your worship of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala stops. That doesn’t mean your Ibaadah stops. Ramadan has come to an end but that doesn’t mean that your strong faith has to end too. Remember all the effort and hard work you put in for this Ramadan to pass by smoothly. Treasure that and keep it going. And for those who didn’t really make the most of Ramadan as such. Don’t give up hop...
